This course is an introduction to the exciting field of veterinary endodontics.
Complicated dental fractures with an exposed pulp requires treatment. The treatment can be extraction or RCT (in fresh fractures Vital Pulp Therapy as well).
Furthermore, discoloured teeth often have a necrotic pulp and therefore need the same treatment as complicated fractures.
RCT is the way to treat these conditions whilst preserving the damaged tooth.
The most common endodontically treated tooth is the canine in dogs. This is an essential and important tooth. This course focuses on the treatment of the canine (and other single rooted teeth) using the orthograde approach.
We discuss different methods of accessing, cleaning, shaping, and obturating the pulpal chamber.
We introduce the overwhelming armentary, trying to define need-to-have and nice-to-have equipment. (TandDyreklinikken Education Center can provide an all-you-need starterkit for RCT.)
The practical sessions will combine demonstrations and individual training on dog canines.
The three days focus on the practical sessions and will be a doorway into the amazing world of endodontics.
The course is for veterinarians with some basic knowledge of veterinary dental treatments.
