VPT is a procedure, that treats the dental pulp trying to preserve its vitality.
VPT covers procedures previously known as Partial Pulpectomy, Vital Pulpotomy, Vital Pulp Capping, Direct Pulp Capping, and Partial Root Canal Therapy.
VPT is indicated by shortening teeth (due to malocclusions) which exposes the pulp. It is also indicated in fresh complicated fractures or fractures with a “near-pulpal-exposure” causing a reversible pulpitis.
The course has a theoretical introduction followed by practical sessions with demonstrations of the procedures and time for individual work on dog teeth.
This course provides a method of state-of-the-art VPT procedure, equipment, and materials needed. (TandDyreklinikken Education Center can provide an all-you-need starterkit for VPT.)
The course is for veterinarians with some knowledge of veterinary dentistry. The course provides you with the knowledge to go home and do the procedures right away, treating malocclusions and fresh fractures.
This course can be combined with our course in Dental Restorations that takes place the day before.
